TCM Forklift Tyres Durban — Supply and Fitting

Running TCM forklifts in and around Durban? When the tyres wear down, you need replacements that fit properly and a team that turns up when they say they will. ForknTire supplies and fits solid and pneumatic tyres for the full TCM range, from compact electric counterbalance units to heavy diesel machines working the yards and ports. We're based at 6 Schenk Road in Pinetown and we cover the greater Durban area.

A quick note up front, because it matters: we are an independent tyre specialist. We're not a TCM dealer and we don't sell new forklifts. What we do is keep the TCM forklifts you already own rolling — the right tyre, fitted right, without the runaround.

Tyres We Supply and Fit for TCM Forklifts

TCM builds a wide range of trucks, and a tyre that suits a 1.5-tonne warehouse unit is wrong for a heavy IC counterbalance machine shifting full pallets across a rough yard. Most of what we do for TCM owners falls into a handful of jobs.

TCM Forklift Tyres Durban

New solid tyres

For TCM electric and IC counterbalance forklifts working indoors on concrete, solid tyres are usually the sensible choice. No punctures, long life, and they shrug off the bits of steel and pallet nails that would flatten a pneumatic tyre by Friday. We press solid tyres on properly using hydraulic equipment, either at our Pinetown workshop or at your premises. If your TCM is doing repetitive warehouse work and you're sick of downtime from flats, this is the conversation to have.

Pneumatic tyres

TCM rough-terrain and outdoor units need air-filled or solid pneumatic-pattern tyres that can take uneven ground and give the operator some cushioning. We fit both tubed and tubeless types depending on the model and how hard the machine works. If your TCM forklift spends its day on gravel, paving or a loading area that's seen better days, pneumatic is what keeps the operator comfortable and the machine stable.

On-site fitting and replacement

Most TCM owners don't want to load a forklift onto a truck just to change tyres. Our mobile units come to you across the Durban area with the press and the tooling, swap the tyres, check the rims and torque, and get the machine back to work. For larger TCM units we arrange the on-site change around your shift so you're not losing a full day.

Used tyres

If budget is tight or the forklift is near the end of its working life, we sometimes have good used tyres in stock. We inspect every one for tread, sidewall condition and structural integrity, and we'll tell you honestly what life is left. Used tyres are sold without warranty — you get a straight assessment, not a sales pitch.

Repairs and maintenance

Not every damaged tyre needs replacing. We assess punctures, sidewall damage and uneven wear on TCM forklift tyres and repair where it's safe and worth it. Where it isn't safe, we'll say so. We also do the unglamorous stuff that keeps tyres alive longer: pressure checks, tread depth, rotation and a look at the wheel bearings.

Why TCM Owners in Durban Use ForknTire

We’ve been supplying and fitting industrial tyres in KwaZulu-Natal for a long time now 15+ Years, and forklift tyres are the core of what we do. That’s the first thing: this isn’t a sideline for us.

We know TCM machines because we work on them constantly. The brand has a strong following in Durban’s FMCG, warehousing and port operations, and Criterion Equipment supplies plenty of new units into the region — which means a lot of TCM forklifts out there eventually need tyres from someone like us. We’re not trying to be your forklift dealer. We’re the people who keep the tyres sorted so the dealer relationship stays about the machine.

Local matters here. We understand what Durban conditions do to tyres — the heat, the coastal damp, the mix of smooth warehouse floors and rough outdoor yards across the industrial belt from Pinetown through to the harbour. We stock for what KZN operations actually run, not a generic national catalogue.

And we’re straight with you. If a repair will do, we’ll repair it. If a used tyre suits the machine’s remaining life, we’ll say so. If the size you think you need is wrong for the application, we’ll check the spec plate and the sidewall markings and put you right before anything gets fitted. Nobody enjoys paying twice.

How It Works

Most jobs follow the same straightforward path. No drama, no surprise charges.

You get in touch.

Call 031 702 6335 or email us with your TCM model and, if you have it, the current tyre size off the sidewall or the forklift's spec plate. A photo helps. This takes you five minutes.

We confirm the right tyre.

We cross-check the size and pattern against the application — indoor, outdoor, load, how many shifts. If anything doesn't add up, we flag it before quoting rather than after fitting. Usually same day.s.

You get a quote.

Clear pricing for the tyres and the fitting, with no surprises bolted on later. If a tyre needs ordering in, we tell you the timeframe up front.

We fit — at your site or ours.

Once you approve, we book it around your operation. On-site for most jobs across Durban; at our Pinetown workshop if you'd rather bring the wheels in. Stock items usually within 24–48 hours in the Durban area.

We check it's right.

Correct fitment, rim condition, torque, and a quick word on keeping the new tyres in good shape. Then your TCM is back to work.

Areas We Cover Around Durban and KZN

We work across the greater Durban area from our base in Pinetown — Pinetown itself, New Germany, Westmead, Mariannhill, through to the harbour, the southern industrial basin and up the North Coast industrial nodes. For emergency tyre call-outs we typically respond within 2–4 hours during business hours, depending where you are in the Durban region.

If you're further out in KZN, give us a call anyway. We can often arrange supply with delivery to site or organise an on-site change for larger TCM units — we'll be honest about timing rather than overpromise.

What TCM Forklift Tyres Cost

Tyre pricing for TCM forklifts depends on the machine and the work it does, so we quote per job rather than pretending one price fits everything. The main things that move the number:

  • Tyre type — solid tyres cost more up front than pneumatic but last longer and don’t puncture, so for heavy indoor use they’re often cheaper over the life of the machine.
  • Size and model — a small electric TCM and a heavy IC counterbalance unit are different tyres entirely.
  • New or used — where a good used tyre suits the machine’s remaining life, it can cut the cost considerably.
  • On-site or workshop — on-site fitting saves you transporting the forklift; workshop fitting is sometimes a little cheaper.
  • Quantity — fleet replacements are quoted differently to a single tyre.

Tell us the model and what it does and we’ll give you a clear quote, usually same day. Request a quote on 031 702 6335.
