What We Offer
Right, so here’s what you need to think about:
Finding the right harvester tyres shouldn't be complicated. You're running combines through wheat in the Free State or cutting cane in KZN, and your tyres directly affect how much fuel you're burning and whether you're churning up your soil.
We supply harvester tyres built for agricultural work. Not passenger tyres that someone's adapted for farm use. These are designed from the ground up to handle the weight, provide traction across different soil types, and spread load properly so you're not compacting the ground you've worked hard to keep in good condition.
Our range covers front steering tyres through to rear drives, different rim sizes, and various load capacities. We work with manufacturers who've actually tested their products in conditions similar to what you're farming in. The coastal humidity is different from the dry inland soils, and the tyres need to work in both.
When you ring us, we'll ask about your harvester model, what your fields are like, and how hard you work the machine. It matters. A combine doing contract work needs different tyres than one running a smaller family operation. We're not being nosy - we're making sure you don't end up with tyres that wear out in half a season or can't grip when you need them to.
Why Choose Fork n Tire
We’ve been in the agricultural tyre business for over 15 years. That means we’ve watched farming change, equipment get bigger, and tyre technology actually get better. More importantly, we’ve seen what holds up in South African conditions versus what fails after one wet season.
Here’s what you’re getting when you work with us:
People Who Know Agriculture
We're not general tyre retailers who happen to stock farm tyres. We've spent three decades in this sector. We know the pressure harvest season puts on you. We know that every day your harvester's sitting waiting for tyres is money you're not making. Our team understands the equipment and can actually guide you to tyres that'll work for your specific setup.
Products That Actually Last
We only stock harvester tyres from manufacturers with decent track records. You won't find cheap imports that'll have you back here in six months. The brands we carry have reputations they've earned through actual performance, not clever marketing. They work in South African farms, not just in laboratory tests.
No Surprises on Price
You've got enough unexpected costs with agricultural equipment. We give you proper pricing upfront. What we quote is what you pay. No extra charges appearing when you collect your tyres.
Real Technical Help
Questions about tyre pressures for different soil conditions? Wondering whether aggressive tread is worth the trade-off in compaction? Ring us. We've had these conversations hundreds of times and we're happy to talk through the technical stuff because we know it matters to how your operation runs.
We're Set Up Right
Based in KwaZulu-Natal, we're positioned to serve farmers across the province and further out. We also keep stock levels that reflect what actually gets used during peak seasons. Running out of common sizes during harvest doesn't help anyone.
How It Works
Getting harvester tyres from us is straightforward:
Tell Us What You Need
Phone 031 702 6335 or email forkntire@telkomsa.net with your harvester details and tyre specs. Don't know the exact specifications? Just tell us your harvester's make and model. We'll sort out what you need from there.
We Check Stock and Give You a Price
We'll see what we've got, confirm whether it's sitting here or needs ordering, and give you accurate pricing. If we need to bring specific sizes in, we'll tell you honestly how long that'll take so you can plan properly.
We Hold Your Tyres
Once you're happy with the quote, we'll put them aside for you. During peak season, this stops you waiting around when you actually need them urgently.
Sort Out Collection or Delivery
We'll work out the most practical way to get tyres to you. Whether you're picking them up from us or need delivery arranged, we'll figure out logistics that work with your schedule.
Installation Support
We supply tyres rather than fit them, but we're happy to talk you through installation, correct pressures for what you're doing, and maintenance that'll help you get the most life out of them.
Where We Deliver
Durban Metro - eThekwini Municipality and surrounding areas
Pietermaritzburg - Midlands region
Newcastle - Northern KwaZulu-Natal
Ladysmith - Central region coverage
Fork n Tire is based in KwaZulu-Natal. We serve farmers and agricultural contractors right across South Africa. Our location works well for customers throughout the province - whether you're in the Midlands farming areas or down in the coastal sugar belt.
We regularly send harvester tyres to customers in other provinces too. Free State grain operations, Eastern Cape, and further afield. If you're outside KZN, ring us and we'll discuss delivery options.
For longer distance customers, we work with transport companies who understand that agricultural tyres need to arrive in good condition and ready to use immediately.
Pricing
Harvester tyre pricing moves around based on size, load rating, tread design, and who made them. Rather than put up prices that might not apply to what you actually need, we quote based on your exact requirements.
Here's what affects what you'll pay:
Size and Specifications
Bigger diameter tyres cost more. Higher load ratings cost more. Front steering tyres usually price differently from rear drives because they’re built differently.
Tread Design
Tyres designed for specific jobs (wet paddies versus dry land) use different tread technology, which changes the price. More aggressive patterns for wet conditions generally cost more than standard designs.
Brand Differences
Premium manufacturers who’ve spent years developing agricultural tyres charge more than economy brands. But that price difference usually shows up in how long they last, fuel efficiency, and how much they protect your soil.
Market Movement
Tyre prices change with raw material costs and exchange rates. We give you current pricing when you ring, not figures from six months ago that don’t reflect what things actually cost now.
For an accurate quote on harvester tyres for your gear, call us on 031 702 6335. We’ll discuss what you need and give you clear pricing. No obligation to buy.

About Fork n Tire
Fork n Tire has been serving South Africa’s agricultural and industrial sectors since 2008. We’re based in KwaZulu-Natal and we’ve built our reputation on stocking quality tyres and actually knowing what we’re talking about.
We focus on understanding what you actually need rather than just taking orders. When you ring us, you’re talking to people who know agricultural equipment and the practical side of keeping machinery running when it matters most.
Our approach is pretty simple: stock good products from manufacturers we trust, give honest technical advice, price things fairly, and do what we say we’ll do. It’s worked for over 15 years and earned us customers across South Africa who keep coming back.
Common Questions About Harvester Tyres for sale
Expert Answers to Common Harvester Tyres for sale Questions
Your harvester's manual lists the recommended tyre sizes and load ratings. If you haven't got the manual handy, just ring us with your harvester's make, model, and year. We can look up the right specs and suggest suitable options from what we've got. We'll also ask about your field conditions because that affects which tread pattern works best for you.
Harvester tyres are built specifically for what combine harvesters need. They carry heavier axle loads than most tractors, they need to work across changing terrain during harvest, and they've got to give you traction without churning up your soil. The construction, tread, and rubber compounds are different from standard tractor tyres because the job's different.
Depends on your soil type, field conditions, how many hours you run per season, maintenance, and whether you're running the right pressures for your load. With decent maintenance, quality harvester tyres usually last multiple seasons. But if you're in rocky soils or consistently running wrong pressures, they'll wear out much faster. We can talk through expected performance based on how you farm.
You can physically do it, but it's not a good idea. Different treads affect how the harvester handles and balances. If you've got to replace just some tyres, at least keep matching pairs on the same axle. Better yet, replace all tyres on an axle together. Mixing different designs can cause uneven wear that creates more problems down the track.
Your typical field conditions matter most. Deeper, aggressive treads grip better in soft or wet soils but might compact sensitive soils more. Shallower patterns work well in drier conditions and disturb the soil less, but they don't grip as well in mud. Think about your worst normal conditions, not your best days. We can talk through which patterns suit the soils in your area.
The tyres come with manufacturer warranties covering defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty terms vary by brand but typically cover structural failures that aren't from damage, misuse, or poor maintenance. We'll give you specific warranty information for whichever tyres you're buying. Just remember warranties don't cover normal wear, damage from rocks or debris, or early wear from running incorrect pressures.
