What "Rhino and Heli Forklift Tyres" Actually Means

Two different things get bundled into one search, so it helps to be clear about what you’re buying. Rhino is a tyre. The NUVO® Rhino is a premium solid forklift tyre developed and built in South Africa, designed around local conditions rather than imported and hoped for the best. It uses a layered build of three rubber compounds reinforced with a steel ring, which is what lets it hold up under heat and heavy duty cycles without breaking down early. If you run a yard that chews through cheaper imports, this is the tyre people move to. Heli is a forklift. Anhui Heli machines are common across South African warehouses and yards because they’re well priced and parts are easy to get. “Heli forklift tyres” means tyres sized and rated to fit a Heli truck, whether that’s a small electric counterbalance unit or a heavier diesel machine. We’re not a Heli dealer and we don’t pretend to be one. What we do is match the correct tyre to your Heli’s specification plate, so you don’t end up with something that fits the rim but ruins the ride or the load rating. Put together, the customers searching this way usually fall into two camps. Either they own Heli forklifts and want a sensible tyre that fits, or they’ve heard Rhino solids last longer and want to know whether they can put them on the machines they already run. We'll fit press-on (PON) and rim-mounted solids, and we run an in-house hydraulic press to seat them properly.

Pneumatic and cushion options

Not every job suits a solid. If your Heli works outdoors on uneven ground, a pneumatic tyre gives you cushioning and grip that a solid can't. We supply standard air-filled, tubeless, and foam-filled pneumatics, the last being a useful halfway house if you keep getting punctures but still want some give in the ride. Cushion tyres sit in between and suit smoother indoor surfaces.

New, used and non-marking

We carry new stock in the common sizes and can source the odd ones, usually quickly. We also sell quality used tyres, inspected and honestly graded, for operations that need to keep costs down on a machine that won't be working much longer. And for clean environments — food, pharma, temperature-controlled stores — we supply white non-marking tyres that won't stripe your floor.

Once you've chosen, we book the fitting.

Depending on your location in the Durban area and what's in stock, that can be quick. We can fit at our Pinetown premises or come to you for on-site work, which saves taking the machine off the floor. Solids go on our hydraulic press; pneumatics are mounted, balanced and set to the correct pressure.

Finally.
