Mitsubishi Forklift Tyres in Durban — Supplied and Fitted by ForknTire
Running a Mitsubishi forklift and the tyres are past it? We supply and fit the right tyres for Grendia, Ninja, electric counterbalance and high-capacity Mitsubishi machines, right across Durban and greater KwaZulu-Natal. You get the correct size, the correct compound for your floor, and a fitter who knows what a worn forklift tyre actually does to your operation. We've been doing only industrial and forklift tyres since 2008.
A quick point worth making up front: we're a tyre specialist, not a Mitsubishi agent. We don't sell the forklifts and we don't claim to be the brand's parts counter. What we do is keep your Mitsubishi rolling on tyres that fit and last — supplied off the shelf where we stock the size, sourced quickly where we don't.
Based at 6 Schenk Rd, Pinetown. Phone 031 702 6335. Open during normal business hours, with mobile fitting available across the greater Durban region.
Which Tyres Fit a Mitsubishi Forklift?
Mitsubishi’s range runs from compact warehouse units up through diesel and gas counterbalance trucks rated well past five tons. The tyre that’s right for one is wrong for another, and getting it wrong costs you in handling, in operator comfort, and in wear on the rest of the machine. Here’s how we think about it.
Solid (press-on and resilient) tyres
For most indoor and yard-based Mitsubishi forklifts, solid tyres are the sensible choice. They can't puncture, they need no inflation checks, and they carry heavy loads without flinching. If your operation runs over swarf, offcuts, broken pallets or any kind of sharp debris — and most do — a solid tyre removes the single biggest cause of forklift downtime. We stock common press-on sizes and can press them on at our Pinetown workshop or on your site.
Pneumatic tyres
If your Mitsubishi works outdoors, on rough yards, gravel or uneven ground, a pneumatic tyre earns its place. The air cushion gives better grip on loose surfaces and a softer ride, which matters when an operator is on the machine all shift. The trade-off is that pneumatics can be punctured and do need pressure checks. We'll tell you honestly whether your application justifies them or whether a solid is the safer bet.
Polyurethane tyres
For light electric units, pallet movers and reach trucks working clean warehouse floors, polyurethane tyres give low rolling resistance and don't mark the floor. They suit high-cycle indoor work where speed and floor protection matter more than rough-terrain grip.
Fitting and pressing
Supplying the tyre is half the job. We press on solids and fit pneumatics using proper equipment — checking the rim for damage, setting correct torque, and confirming the wheel runs true before the machine goes back to work. You can drop the wheel or the forklift at Pinetown, or we bring the mobile unit to you. Most call-outs in the Durban area we aim to reach within 24hrs
Repair, maintenance and replacement planning
We don't only sell tyres reactively. Pressure checks, tread-depth measurement, visual inspections and rotation on a schedule that fits your operation will catch a tyre before it strands a machine. We keep records so you can plan replacements instead of paying for emergency breakdowns. Worn forklift tyres aren't only a productivity problem — a fully laden forklift with no suspension relies on its tyres to absorb shock, so perished or bald tyres put both the operator's back and the machine's components at risk.
Why Durban Operators Use ForknTire for Mitsubishi Tyres
We’ve focused on industrial and forklift tyres since 2008 — that’s the only thing we do, not a sideline to a passenger-car fitment centre. Over those years we’ve fitted tyres to most makes on most floors in KwaZulu-Natal, Mitsubishi included, so when you describe your machine and your application we already have a fair idea of what’s going to work.
Based in Pinetown, we know the conditions your forklift actually faces here — humid coastal yards, abrasive surfaces at the port-linked warehouses, the lot. That local read informs what we recommend, rather than us pushing whatever’s easiest to shift off the shelf.
We’re straight about what we are. Where a tyre needs sourcing rather than pulling off our racks, we tell you the realistic timeframe instead of promising same-day and disappointing you. Where a solid would serve you better than the pneumatic you asked for, we’ll say so. And because tyres are the whole business, the advice you get is from people who fit these things every day.
How Ordering Works
We’ve kept this simple on purpose. Most enquiries go from first call to fitted tyre without any fuss.
Tell us your machine.
Give us the Mitsubishi model, or just read the size off the sidewall of your current tyre or the forklift's spec plate. Not sure? We can measure and verify during a visit. Your part: a phone call or a photo of the sidewall.
We confirm the right tyre.
We match size, type and compound to how and where the forklift works, and quote you. Your part: confirm the application — indoor, outdoor, load weights, shift length.
We supply.
Stocked sizes are ready straight away; less common sizes we source and give you an honest timeframe on. Your part: approve the quote.
We fit.
Press-on or pneumatic, at our Pinetown workshop or on your site with the mobile unit. We check the rim, set correct torque, confirm the wheel runs true. Your part: arrange access to the machine.
We keep it running.
Optional scheduled checks and records so the next replacement is planned, not an emergency. Your part: agree a check interval that suits you.
Service Area and the Machines We Cover
We're based at 6 Schenk Road, Pinetown, and supply tyres to forklift operators across Durban and the wider KwaZulu-Natal region — Pinetown, Westmead, New Germany, Mayville, the harbour precinct, the South and North Coast industrial areas, and inland towards the Midlands. You can collect from Pinetown or we bring the mobile fitting unit to your premises. For breakdowns within the Durban area we aim to respond within 6-hours.
What Mitsubishi Forklift Tyres Cost
Tyre pricing depends on the size, the type (solid, pneumatic or polyurethane), the compound, and whether you need fitting at our workshop or on site. A single press-on solid for a small electric unit sits at one end; a large pneumatic set for a heavy diesel counterbalance at the other. Rather than quote a misleading “from” figure, we’d rather look at your actual machine and give you a real number.
Tell us the model or the tyre size and your application, and we’ll come back with a quote — quickly, and with no obligation. Where you’re replacing more than one tyre or maintaining a fleet, ask about pricing across the set.
Frequently Asked Questions
We supply tyres that fit Mitsubishi forklifts — solid, pneumatic and polyurethane in the correct sizes — and we fit them. We're a tyre specialist, not a Mitsubishi dealer or OEM parts agent, so for genuine Mitsubishi components or a new machine you'd go to the brand's distributor. For tyres, you're in the right place.
Check the sidewall of your current tyre for the size markings, or look at the forklift's spec plate. If you can't find it, send us the model number or a photo of the sidewall, or we'll measure and verify during a visit.
Solids suit indoor and yard work, can't puncture, and need no inflation checks, which is why most forklift operators run them. Pneumatics give better grip and a softer ride for rough outdoor surfaces but can be punctured. Tell us where the machine works and we'll recommend honestly.
Yes. We run a mobile fitting service across the Durban area, or you can bring the wheel or the forklift to our Pinetown workshop. Confirm your location and we'll tell you whether on-site fitting is included or carries a call-out fee.
tocked sizes are available straight away. If we have to source a less common size we'll give you a realistic timeframe rather than a guess — usually a few days. For breakdowns in the Durban area we aim to respond within 6-hr
Yes — we supply and fit tyres for all major forklift makes. We've focused on industrial and forklift tyres since 2008, so most machines on most floors are familiar territory.
